Sam and Andy, Catherine’s Little Lambs, have been looking forward to their trip to Virginia. While they are very well equipped for the coldest weather, they have no objections to a milder climate from January through March. November and December was all they wanted of Madison, Wisconsin. They were ready to hit the trail.
We had told them we would leave on Monday, January 4, but then realized we didn’t need to leave until Tuesday. We were relieved because neither of us had taken care of all the last minute details for a three month trip, but they were disappointed (so as not to use a more colorful verb). On Tuesday, they waited patiently (so as not to use a more colorful adjective) for us to fill up the back of Catherine’s new Jeep. They commented (so as not to use a more colorful verb) on all the stuff we were packing. They didn’t have to pack anything, they said. Finally we left the snow of Wisconsin.
We traveled all day Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday afternoon. They piled out of the Jeep and started exploring right away. We were busy starting our orientation while they explored the inn, met the cattle in the pasture next to the inn and introduced themselves to the veterinarian who owns the cattle.
They are having a great time!
