Sam and Andy, Catherine’s little lambs, attended the Professional Association of Innkeepers International (PAII) Annual Meeting in St. Charles, Missouri, with us. We were there to work at the Interim Innkeepers Network booth at the convention. Sam and Andy were not much help, but they enjoyed meeting Rebecca Whisnant, who shared our responsibilities.
Not all was work and education. The St. Charles Visitors Bureau hosted an evening of hor d’oeuvres, served from mobile tables and live music. It was a fun evening.
We picked up an interesting lead at the meeting. Catherine and I were visiting with inn keepers from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They pointed out that we are independent contractors and not employees, and therefore, may not need work visas to innsit in Canada. We intend to follow up on that idea.
I grabbed the last photo of the vendor next to us. It was Gray Fox Pottery of Minneapolis. Customized coffee mugs are favorite promotional and sale items for bed and breakfasts, and Gray Fox has a huge selection.
